George

George is a sulcata tortoise that came to live with us in 2004, when he was 4 years old. His first owner was a wonderful couple who loved George very much, but they were told he could live in a 10 gallon aquarium. When George kept growing and GROWING, they realized that, not only did they have something much different than they thought, but they also could not give George the home he needed. His first job as an ambassador was to cheer up my son, who was 3 years old and in a body cast at the time. They crawled around together in their "shells" and George became a star. George loves attention and when he sees me getting ready for a program, he will go to the door in anticipation of the adventure!
